Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
Remove the patties from heat and let them rest for a few minutes before assembling the burgers.
Assemble the burgers with the turkey patty on the bun and add your favorite toppings.
