Tiramisu Brownies

Biting into a dessert that’s both deeply comforting and excitingly sophisticated. Tiramisu Brownies are precisely that: a delightful paradox of familiar brownie indulgence layered with the dreamy, coffee-kissed essence of tiramisu.

  • Total Time: 3 hours
  • Yield: 12 brownies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fudgy Brownie Foundation:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
  • 1 ¼ cups (250g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder, Dutch-processed
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3 large fresh eggs
  • ¾ cup (90g) all-purpose flour

For the Aromatic Coffee Infusion:

  • ½ cup (120ml) freshly brewed hot coffee, strong
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar

For the Luxurious Mascarpone Cream Layer:

  • 8 oz (226g) mascarpone cheese, full-fat
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

For the Classic Tiramisu Dusting:

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter, stir in sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla.
  3. Whisk in eggs one at a time.
  4. Gently mix in flour.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, cool completely.
  6. Make coffee syrup by dissolving sugar in hot coffee.
  7. Beat mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  9. Fold whipped cream into mascarpone.
  10. Poke holes in cooled brownies, soak with coffee syrup.
  11. Spread mascarpone cream over brownies.
  12. Chill for 2-3 hours or overnight.
  13. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Use stronger coffee or add coffee liqueur for a more intense coffee flavour. Add chocolate shavings or a chocolate swirl for a mocha twist. Include toasted hazelnuts for crunch. Add citrus zest for brightness. Drizzle with caramel sauce for extra indulgence. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or on a dessert board. Substitute gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version. Chill ingredients and avoid overmixing for a firm mascarpone cream. Use instant coffee if needed. Cut with a hot, wet knife for clean slices. Double the recipe for a larger batch.
