- 1 lb Penne Pasta
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
- 4 cups Milk
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 lb Cooked Chicken Breast
- 8 oz Cooked Turkey Breast
- 8 oz Sliced Turkey or Chicken Roll
- 1 cup Frozen Peas
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- ½ cup Breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
- Fresh Parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic in oil.
- Make a roux with flour and oil, whisk in milk to create a creamy sauce.
- Remove from heat, stir in cream cheese and Dijon mustard, season with salt and pepper.
- Combine pasta, chicken, turkey, turkey/chicken roll, and peas. Add sauce and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a baking dish, top with mozzarella cheese and buttered breadcrumbs.
- Bake until golden and bubbly. Rest, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Use different cheeses, add vegetables, incorporate herbs, or add spice for variations. Substitute breadcrumbs with crushed crackers.
